Their debut event </span><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;"><b>Münk Culture</b> was introduced to the world last year and is the amalgamation of four elements <i>bass, social, culture and style</i>. Their <a href="http://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2016/02/contrxst-brings-you-second-edition-of.html" target="_blank">second event</a> promised to be an escape from the ordinary, an escape into a world unlike anything before. With that said we had to find out if it was true or not. On Saturday  06 February 2016, we braced the horrid Johannesburg rain to attended the second edition of Münk Culture held at one of Johannesburg most loved party venues Carfax. </span></div>

<span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;">The lineup featured acts such as <b><a href="http://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2014/07/rikay-shows-us-his-deeper-side.html" target="_blank">Rikay</a>, Trancemicsoul, Niskerone, Mooi, <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Metro Ticket</b> and <b>Kollective Kulture</b> amongst others.</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;">Looking at the lineup </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">o</span><span style="font-family: inherit;">ne would have thought that Münk would draw the older more refined crowd. This was however not the crowd that was there to party, it was rammed with young ones who had just received their rights of </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">passage</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> into partying. Okay maybe not, but you get our drift. This was a surprise as we would have thought the lineup would have </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">deterred</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> the kids of today who come across being ignorant with regard to music styles.</span></div>

The main </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">dance-floor</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> was built into a little </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">oasis</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> from LED </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">panels</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> and homed the entertainers for the night. </span><span style="color: black; font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">The night progressed from the hi's and lo’s of techno all the way to deep house, future bass and trap. Each DJ </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">brought</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> their own sound and the night was a pivotal moment in music education for the younger generation and for some hardcore one genre lovers.</span></span></div>

We also need to give them points for picking a lineup which tapped out from the ordinary sound that everyone has come to love,"bigroom! Aside for the mishaps at the doors, the night was nothing short of superb. The music was the right amount of “underground” and the crowd welcomed it with open arms. The production from stage design to the sound system was up to the level of best.</span></div>

After releasing tracks on iconic labels, there comes a time in most producers careers to spread their wings, and by spreading their wings we mean starting their own imprint. This time has come for <b>Black Butter's</b> Kidnap Kid. The London based producer is spreading his wings and flying off into his own direction with his own label <b>Birds That Fly Records</b>. The creation of Birds that Fly Records will serve as the home for him and other like-minded producers. A label that will no doubt be a source of provoking releases.<br />

In true <b>Kidnap Kid </b>style <b>Birds That Fly</b> is a tranquil piece of house heaven, much like a big bowl of gelato on a hot summers day.  The track builds gradually taking you on a soaring flight with every drop of the melodic vocal. With Kidnap Kid's unique ear for melodic house, we look forward to hearing what else he has planned for the label.</div>

Known for his unwavering dedication to authenticity in electronic music, Stephan has been a key figure in the international techno scene since 2006.</div><div><br /></div><div>Hailing from Bremen, Stephan Bodzin’s journey into music was shaped early on as the son of an experimental musician. His deep-rooted passion for electronic sounds blossomed as he composed for several renowned European theatres, laying a strong foundation for his unique style. Gradually, he transitioned into the club scene, where his innovative sound quickly caught the attention of techno heavyweights like Oliver Huntemann, Thomas Schumacher, and Marc Romboy.</div><div><br /></div><div>Stephan’s signature style—often described as melodic and atmospheric techno—has influenced producers worldwide. His tracks have been released on leading labels such as Get Physical, Datapunk, Gigolo, Systematic, and Giant Wheel. Additionally, he has lent his remix talents to legendary acts including Depeche Mode, Booka Shade, and The Knife.</div><div><br /></div><div>Reflecting on his creative process, Stephan explains, “Throughout my releases and collaborations, I let my ideas flow freely to develop a unique style. Intuition is key because my personal definition of good and bad music constantly evolves.” He proudly identifies as a “melody man,” emphasizing that “it’s the melodies that endure.” This melodic sensibility has earned him praise from icons like DJ Hell, who coined the term “Bremen sound” to describe Stephan’s groundbreaking productions.</div><div><br /></div><div>In 2006, Stephan took full control of his artistic vision by founding the label Herzblut, part of the Plantage 13 collective.
