One of the OG Defected House Masters, Dennis Ferrer’s relationship with the iconic London label is checkpointed by a vast number of innovative originals, guiding house through many eras from soul and gospel to Afro and techno.<br /><br />Now renowned as one of the instantly recognisable anthems of modern house and the Defected catalogue, ‘Hey Hey’ receives two Afro house remixes from Jack Back and Da Capo & Kitty Amor. One of electronic music’s most recognisable artists, David Guetta created the Jack Back alias to return to his house roots, releasing the chart-topping Defected hit ‘(It Happens) Sometimes’ in 2018. When we think of things unique to South Africa the first thing that comes to mind is our music. Music is a daily need for all South Africans and the one thing that unites us. Earlier this year, Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky and SAMA-winning, platinum-selling duo Black Motion asked people from across the country to submit the sounds, rhythms and beats that represent their life and experience of South Africa. The end result, Beat of Africa, an album with beats unique to Africa. </div>
