A young leader in the American dance music scene, Ookay is poised to take the next step in his career with his new Ghost EP, set for release November 10 on Dim Mak Records. While Ookay has gained recognition for his heavy-hitting style of bass-centric trap, his Ghost EP demonstrates a much wider range of talent, exhibiting his more melodic and forward thinking capabilities in addition to his already proven talent at delivering a sonic punch. A thoughtful and varied creation, this 5-track release presents a different side of the rising star, while still keeping the energy consistent and the innovation at an all time high.
From humble beginnings, Los Angeles based producer Ookay recently exploded onto the electronic dance music scene with tracks such as Congrorock’s “Bless Di Nation Ft. Sean Paul” (Ookay Remix) and Steve Aoki, Chris Lake & Tujamo’s “Boneless” (Ookay Remix). Breaking down the boundaries between hip-hop and dance music, Ookay also achieved mainstream success with releases on Ultra Records charting in the Beatport Top 10. More recently, Ookay teamed up with electronic music superstar Diplo to release their take on Avicii’s “You Make Me” (Ookay & Diplo Remix). With support from main stage giants like Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Diplo, Major Lazer, Borgore, Showtek, Nervo, David Guetta, Chuckie, Kife Party, Dirtyphonics, Krewella, and Adventure Club, Ookay is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
