Middleground is a Electronic Music Duo consisting of JonT Schoeman and Cameron Last both currently residing in Joahnnesburg, South Africa. As fate would have it, a chance meet in Cape Town in 2010, brought them together. The name Middleground is the result of how Cameron and JonT work and conceive music together. This often occurs by one starting a beat,bass, synth, percusion, melody while the other finishes it off. At other times, music is created by the two together from start to finish. No matter how the music is created, it is always the “Middleground”. In addition, Middleground does not cater to only one specific genre, fan base or demographic. Middleground’s main focus are Deep House, Deep Tech and Techno and caters for different fans who enjoy house / electronic music. At the same time, Middleground would like to influence people to their genre by creating songs that people from all walks of life can relate to.

Their major industry influence include Marc Kinchen, aka MK,Armand Van Helden, Felix Da House Cat.Tod Terry, The late great Frankie Knuckles and many more.

Middleground’s first big release is a track titled “I Don’t Get It” which features deep soulful vocals from LEBO. The track is a Soulful, low tempo, funky Deep House track which has been signed to South Africa's leading house music label Soul Candi record.  

On top of the music production Middleground is progressively working towards building into a Live act where the first version of this will include the duo DJing with a live vocalist. Live instruments such as keyboards will be used and by the end of 2014 there are plans to include beat pads such as the Native Instruments F1 and Machine.
