The DJ Mag Top 100 has landed, <b><i>David Guetta</i></b> is No. 1 for a record sixth time, and the annual debate has already begun. <b><i>Martin Garrix</i></b> is No. 2, <b><i><a href="https://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2026/05/anyma-aeden-shanghai-review-setlist-social-media-crowd.html" target="_blank">Anyma</a></i></b> jumps to No. 3, <b><i>Charlotte de Witte</i></b> is No. 6, <b><i>Armin van Buuren</i></b> No. 7 and <b><i>FISHER</i></b> No. 9. <b><i>Black Coffee </i></b>moves up three places to No. 14, while <b><i>Shimza</i></b> makes his debut at No. 75.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The strange thing about the list is how quickly those numbers become treated as fact. Is Black Coffee really the 14th-best DJ in the world? Is Shimza 75th? Has Anyma genuinely become seven places “better” than he was last year?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">There isn't really a way to answer that. A DJ set isn't a measurable competition, and what makes one artist exceptional can have very little to do with what makes another one work. The Top 100 doesn't attempt to solve that either. It is a public vote, with fans choosing five DJs, and this year votes came from 234 territories.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">That becomes more revealing when you look at the movement. Fred again.. climbs 17 places to No. 16. John Summit, Mau P and CHRIS STASSY each jump 22 places, while The Martinez Brothers rise to No. 28. At the other end, Eric Prydz falls 25 places and Vini Vici drops 39. New names including Josh Baker, Mahmut Orhan, Prospa, Cloonee, Joseph Capriati, Sonny Fodera and KI/KI also make their way into the list.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">It's difficult to read those changes as a scoreboard of DJ ability. They make much more sense as a picture of where audiences are putting their attention.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">That is particularly interesting for South Africa. Black Coffee remains inside the top 20, while Shimza's first appearance puts another South African artist on the global list. South Africa was also one of the biggest voting countries in Africa, alongside Algeria and Morocco.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">There is also a more practical reason artists still care about where they land. A Top 100 placing travels well. It works in a biography, a press release or a booking pitch, giving promoters an immediate sense of an artist's profile. It doesn't tell them what will happen when the DJ actually plays, but it does tell them there is already an audience behind the name.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Which brings us back to Guetta.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Whether he is the world's best DJ is almost beside the point. More than four decades into his career, he is still selling out major shows, holding two Ibiza residencies and drawing audiences on a scale most artists can only dream of. His three sold-out Stade de France shows this year moved more than 240,000 tickets.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The number at the top of the list doesn't settle the argument about who is best. What it does show is the scale of the audience still paying attention.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Maybe that's why the Top 100 has survived for so long. It isn't really a definitive answer to the question of who is the best DJ in the world. It's a yearly snapshot of who has the reach, the audience and the profile to make the biggest global electronic music poll matter.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">And every October, we come back to see who made the cut.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><h3 style="text-align: justify;">DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026</h3><div style="text-align: justify;"><ol><li>David Guetta</li><li>Martin Garrix</li><li>Anyma</li><li>Alok</li><li>Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike</li><li>Charlotte de Witte</li><li>Armin Van Buuren</li><li>Timmy Trumpet</li><li>FISHER</li><li>Vintage Culture</li><li>Calvin Harris</li><li>Don Diablo</li><li>Peggy Gou</li><li>Black Coffee</li><li>Afrojack</li><li>Fred again..</li><li>Lost Frequencies</li><li>Steve Aoki</li><li>KSHMR</li><li>W&W</li><li>Reinier Zonneveld</li><li>Tiësto</li><li>Carl Cox</li><li>John Summit</li><li>Skrillex</li><li>Indira Paganotto</li><li>Nicky Romero</li><li>The Martinez Brothers</li><li>Hardwell</li><li>Illenium</li><li>Keinemusik</li><li>Alan Walker</li><li>Jamie Jones</li><li>Swedish House Mafia</li><li>Paul van Dyk</li><li>Korolova</li><li>Michael Bibi</li><li>Dom Dolla</li><li>Oliver Heldens</li><li>Josh Baker</li><li>Solomun</li><li>Mahmut Orhan</li><li>Claptone</li><li>Joel Corry</li><li>R3hab</li><li>Mochakk</li><li>Amelie Lens</li><li>HUGEL</li><li>Lilly Palmer</li><li>GORDO</li><li>James Hype</li><li>Maddix</li><li>Marshmello</li><li>Zedd</li><li>Mau P</li><li>Alesso</li><li>Boris Brejcha</li><li>Bassjackers</li><li>CHRIS STASSY</li><li>DJ Snake</li><li>Miss Monique</li><li>Eric Prydz</li><li>ATB</li><li>Sara Landry</li><li>Kölsch</li><li>Ben Nicky</li><li>Sub Zero Project</li><li>Joseph Capriati</li><li>Liu</li><li>ARTBAT</li><li>Vini Vici</li><li>Wade</li><li>Nora En Pure</li><li>B Jones</li><li>Shimza</li><li>Quintino</li><li>Lucas & Steve</li><li>Giuseppe Ottaviani</li><li>Padre Guilherme</li><li>Sonny Fodera</li><li>Deborah De Luca</li><li>Nico Moreno</li><li>Ferry Corsten</li><li>Cloonee</li><li>Mosimann</li><li>PAWSA</li><li>Above & Beyond</li><li>Marnik</li><li>The Chainsmokers</li><li>Plastik Funk</li><li>Deadmau5</li><li>MATTN</li><li>Nils van Zandt</li><li>Prospa</li><li>¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U</li><li>Cuebrick</li><li>Marlon Hoffstadt</li><li>Honey Dijon</li><li>DubVision</li><li>KI/KI</li></ol></div></span></div></div></div></div>

Long before the <b>Sphere</b> and long before <b>ÆDEN</b>, there was<a href="https://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2015/02/toy-toy-bridges-for-music-presents-tale.html" target="_blank"><b> Tale of U</b>s</a> in 2015, a formative set that landed at a time when techno still felt far from the mainstream and every detail of the night from the energy, to the room, and the crowd, made it unforgettable. Since then, Anyma has continued to push the project outward, from <i>Save Me </i>with <b>Cassian</b>, which was once our most-played track of the year, to the boundary-breaking 3D visuals and immersive storytelling that have helped define his rise. By the time<b> ÆDEN</b> was announced in Shanghai, it felt like a show we couldn't miss, especially after missing Anyma's Genesys debut at VAC in China back in 2024.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">There was always going to be anticipation around<b> Anyma's ÆDEN </b>Shanghai debut. As the first presentation of his new audiovisual production in the city, the show arrived with a level of expectation that had already been built long before the doors opened.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">That history matters, because <b>Anyma's</b> evolution into a fully visual live act has made his work as much about image as sound. By the time <b>ÆDEN </b>reached Shanghai, much of its identity had already been formed online through clips, teasers, and footage from earlier appearances. In that sense, the show did not arrive as a mystery. It arrived as something many in the crowd already knew how it was supposed to look.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="font-family: times;"><i></i></span></b></div><blockquote><div style="text-align: justify;"><b><i><span style="background-color: #ff0072; color: white; font-family: Oswald;"> "The problem was that the live setting never fully caught up with the digital version of  itself."  </span></i></b></div></blockquote><p style="color: #444444;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: #444444; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI4NQXx3XNmnZ0NJ00DYE2KF_YYXDQqkeiOuwgLipJUcp-Kwe6V2yKhOM_AVWi43mNZ38Xo7Ol-45vdr77UUdNJjGigokdXkACptSQ5qxiLZfbZGCMQzi6h8itK2KEsj8EicbkpIvcumjpLFHTqOb96W5y2nFpwZyLzk4MLnzBtZRU3D-x6vx6PzCxOAVv/s2564/Anyma_%C3%86DEN_SHANGHAI_2026_CROWD.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: times;"><img alt="Anyma Playing in Shanghai 2026 ÆDEN debut show crowd shot" border="0" data-original-height="1923" data-original-width="2564" loading="lazy" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI4NQXx3XNmnZ0NJ00DYE2KF_YYXDQqkeiOuwgLipJUcp-Kwe6V2yKhOM_AVWi43mNZ38Xo7Ol-45vdr77UUdNJjGigokdXkACptSQ5qxiLZfbZGCMQzi6h8itK2KEsj8EicbkpIvcumjpLFHTqOb96W5y2nFpwZyLzk4MLnzBtZRU3D-x6vx6PzCxOAVv/s16000-rw/Anyma_%C3%86DEN_SHANGHAI_2026_CROWD.jpg" /></span></a></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: times;"><br /></span><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">Getting into the venue set the tone. The walk from entrance to security, and then onward to the main arena, was unusually long, while the site itself was arranged across broad, segmented zones that stretched far back from the stage. Despite reports of a sold-out crowd, the ground never felt full. Instead of one concentrated audience, the event seemed to dissolve into pockets of space.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">The staging did little to resolve that. The visual box sat between sections, speaker towers obstructed portions of the view, and the screen, the central object of the entire concept, did not always command the room in the way it should have. For a show positioned as an immersive visual experience, sightlines mattered, and in several parts of the venue they were compromised.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">The atmosphere also felt misaligned with the scale of the production. With no alcohol sales, children present, and groups spread out on the lawn eating and socialising, parts of the evening felt closer to a daytime picnic than a club-adjacent music event. Phones were out early, and not simply as a way of documenting the music. The attention in the room was already shifting away from the stage.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><a href="https://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2014/11/review-balance-presents-kolsch.html"><b>Kölsch</b> </a>opened with a set that included <b><a href="https://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2016/01/time-to-breathe-with-eric-prydz-and-rob.html" target="_blank">Eric Prydz's</a></b> <i>Pjanoo</i> alongside his own material such as Let Me <i>Show You, Camisra, Kinema, Moments, Grey,</i> and his remix of <b><a href="https://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2014/04/london-grammar-hey-now-sasha-remix.html" target="_blank">London Grammar's</a></b> <i>Hell to the Liars.</i> Even with records that are widely known and usually capable of cutting through, the response stayed muted. The crowd appeared largely disengaged, standing around rather than building momentum with the music. It was not a hostile reaction so much as an indifferent one, which in a setting like this can be even more difficult to overcome.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">By the time <b>Ben Böhmer</b> took over, the venue had filled out a little more. His live set brought a different kind of emotional texture, opening with <i>Beyond Belief</i> and moving through his track with <b>Malou</b> and <b>Nils Hoffmann</b>, <i>Breathing</i>, alongside<i> The Space In Between, Wall of Strings</i>, and <i>Evermore</i>. Even with a more emotional arc, the set lost some of its impact as attention remained fractured. Ben also finished around 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, which made the momentum feel slightly cut short just as the room was beginning to settle into his performance. People filmed themselves, watched through their screens, or shifted focus away from the music entirely. The result was a set that had real beauty in it, but not enough collective attention to let that beauty land with full force.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><b>Prospa</b> brought the most direct dancefloor energy of the night, leaning into a firmer selection that included <i>Free Your Mind, Love Songs,</i> their brand new release today with <b>Murda Beatz</b> <i>Baby</i>, a new ID with <b>Kettama</b>, <i>Think Of You</i>, and another unreleased track said to be linked with <b>Max Dean</b>, <i>Innocence</i>. Their set lifted the tempo and triggered brief pockets of movement, but even then the response was isolated. The wider crowd stayed comparatively static, reinforcing the sense that the event was being observed more than lived.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">By the time <b>Anyma</b> came on, the weather had shifted again. The drizzle became more noticeable, and smoke hung in the air, thickening the atmosphere just as the headline set was about to begin. <b>Anyma</b> also started about 15 minutes later than scheduled, which stretched the anticipation even further. It should have been the moment when the room finally locked into place.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">Instead, it confirmed the night's central tension.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">Phones rose across the crowd almost immediately and stayed there for the duration of the set. Screens blocked already limited sightlines, and at least one attendee in front of the stage area kept a GoPro mounted on a stick in the air for long stretches. The result was a live environment that increasingly resembled a recording session. </span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><i><span><blockquote><b style="background-color: #ff0072;"><span style="color: white; font-family: Oswald;">" The show was no longer being experienced as a collective moment, but as a series of  individual  attempts to capture proof of being there."  </span></b></blockquote><p style="color: #444444; font-family: times;"> </p></span></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: #444444; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpEIwAZe_Px5FNbOVuiHf-ZzEO52v7hMyjhyphenhyphennIuAfBmFd7K3zVAYPZEvcBO69RXwBq20Jrnnv1FntadkWMZRTXNWWBh7FhX87PvhwnIRmZAHZeiVTNIexRWi2WtwqeNJynYfBeUb9bTcW0aoH-u6U3fWGcqGgH21gkEPljVKcro-Co8fE6TeByXinsO1wI/s3666/anyma_%C3%86DEN_SHANGHAI_2026_STAGE.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: times;"><img alt="Anyma ÆDEN Shanghai 2026 stage set up and visuals" border="0" data-original-height="3666" data-original-width="2750" loading="lazy" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpEIwAZe_Px5FNbOVuiHf-ZzEO52v7hMyjhyphenhyphennIuAfBmFd7K3zVAYPZEvcBO69RXwBq20Jrnnv1FntadkWMZRTXNWWBh7FhX87PvhwnIRmZAHZeiVTNIexRWi2WtwqeNJynYfBeUb9bTcW0aoH-u6U3fWGcqGgH21gkEPljVKcro-Co8fE6TeByXinsO1wI/s16000-rw/anyma_%C3%86DEN_SHANGHAI_2026_STAGE.JPG" /></span></a></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: times;"><br /></span><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">The setlist itself showed plenty of intent. It moved through new and unreleased material, some of which had already been debuted at <b>Coachella</b>, with tracks like <i>Aden</i>, <i>Ritual, Atoma, Prophecy, Carrier Of Souls, Voices In My Head,</i> and<i> Desire</i> shaping the arc. The visuals matched the songs in tone and scale, but they never fully fused into one cohesive story.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">That was the real issue. The production had vision, but not enough narrative continuity to hold the room. The visuals were strong on a scene-by-scene basis, but the emotional line between them never quite locked in. Musically, the set held together, though not always with the flow it needed, and the absence of <i>Save Me</i> was noticeable given the track's significance within <b>Anyma's</b> wider catalogue.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><div><span style="font-family: times;"><b>Anyma</b> also leaned on fan favourites like <i>Hypnotized</i> with <b><a href="https://www.thinkinelectronic.com/2014/05/seven-lions-dont-leave-ft-ellie-goulding.html" target="_blank">Ellie Goulding</a></b>, <i>Bad Angel </i>with<b> LISA</b> (the track most of the crowd actually recognized), </span><span style="font-family: times;">and </span><i style="font-family: times;">Consciousness.</i><span style="font-family: times;"> </span><i style="font-family: times;">Destination</i><span style="font-family: times;"> with </span><b style="font-family: times;">Becky Hill </b><span style="font-family: times;">where the visuals created a beautiful, memorable scene captivated the audience</span><i style="font-family: times;">,</i><span style="font-family: times;"> alongside the unreleased </span><b style="font-family: times;">Swae Lee </b><span style="font-family: times;">collab </span><i style="font-family: times;">Phenomenal</i><span style="font-family: times;">. These should have landed with real force. Instead, even those moments felt muted in the room, interrupted by distorted views and constant phone screens. The closing stretch delivered an epic ending with </span><i style="font-family: times;">Beautiful</i><span style="font-family: times;"> </span><b style="font-family: times;">(Anyma & Joji)</b><span style="font-family: times;">a genuinely powerful finale, but </span><i style="font-family: times;">Midnight City</i><span style="font-family: times;"> beforehand fell flat, landing with less impact than the record would normally command.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; color: #444444; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi53eoutmL1gEDHPpOpXm6ujZkQM1n6U4hHHhEz-ZCCZtfSVCPOyb4tMCFc_-4KCpY7a_pEYUWoBHmRy1zek1IPpDS8rp_elJMuc1tJT4n6Hm6dyygsHKLUhozuXUIc2kdbsvT9lMFtEqWxf5VIHq9qRRUkRAvF9RFdSKXxTiZJgdjB8aFfnwRGQAOpA-2U/s2257/ANYMA_%C3%86DEN_SHANGHAI_2026_REVIEW_CROWD.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: times;"><img alt="anyma presents Æden Shanghai crowd with phones" border="0" data-original-height="1270" data-original-width="2257" loading="lazy" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi53eoutmL1gEDHPpOpXm6ujZkQM1n6U4hHHhEz-ZCCZtfSVCPOyb4tMCFc_-4KCpY7a_pEYUWoBHmRy1zek1IPpDS8rp_elJMuc1tJT4n6Hm6dyygsHKLUhozuXUIc2kdbsvT9lMFtEqWxf5VIHq9qRRUkRAvF9RFdSKXxTiZJgdjB8aFfnwRGQAOpA-2U/s16000-rw/ANYMA_%C3%86DEN_SHANGHAI_2026_REVIEW_CROWD.jpg" /></span></a></div><span style="color: #444444; font-family: times;"><br /></span><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">What lingered most from the night was not the spectacle itself, but the way it was received. <b>ÆDEN</b> <b>Shanghai</b> was designed as an immersive experience, yet much of the audience seemed more interested in documenting it than inhabiting it. The performance existed in front of them, but for many, the primary version of it was the one being assembled on their screens.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">That is where the show felt most diminished. Not in the quality of the music or the production, but in the way the crowd absorbed it. In a room full of phones, the live moment struggled to stay intact.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><b>ÆDEN Shanghai</b> had the scale, the lineup, and the visual ambition to make a strong statement. But for all its technical polish, the experience never fully translated into something felt in the room.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">It looked impressive.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;">It felt less alive than it should have.</span></div><div style="color: #444444; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times;"><br /></span></div></span></span></div>

The year 2014 saw the pair collaborate on a track and 2016 sees the pair reunited.</span><br /> <span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif;">Eekkoo as an artist has built a dual identity that combines heavy hitting analogue Techno with a refined focus on melody and emotional progression. On the other hand, Sailor & I explains why music is important to him calling it an escape and a world where he feels is home.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif;"><br /></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif;">The<b> Letters  EP </b>comes with a Capital and a Lowercase version, we quite like the Lowercase. Both tracks are strung together perfectly to evoke emotion. The synths lead to a piano which then leads to a guitar gathering a beat that is so clean it shines, all fastened together with artistic lyrics and warm vocals. Eekkoo describes the collab as being a bit lighter than the previous collab, colourful and lyrical. We agree with his description fully.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif;"><br /></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: times, "times new roman", serif;">Letters is accompanied by a good number of remixes all from very reputable remixers.
