LUMBERJVCK ‘JVCKWOOD’ will have you gasping for more

LUMBERJVCK – ‘JVCKWOOD’ EP

LUMBERJVCK JVCKWOOD ep

To be released via Excision’s label Rottun Recordings on August 25th is the darkly epic ‘JVCKWOOD’ EP from genre-fusing LUMBERJVCK. An artist who is visibly on the rise, his highly successful ‘Click Clvck’ became a staple in Skrillex’s sets on his Mothership Tour.

The EP is an atmospheric dive down into the murky depths of bass. The scene is set with ‘Reelfoot Lake’, complete with sinister vocal stabs and laughs alongside offshoots of twisting melody and rattling snares. Next comes ‘Bumpwood’, a collaboration with Khemehk - adding further fuel with gnarly guitar riffs and shattering drum sequences. ‘Cordwood’ follows, this time incorporating hints of piano in the intro before breaking into moments of real frenzy, increasing the pace and throwing in lurching drops along the way. Finally comes ‘Mirkwood’, building suspense with an elongated intro before switching into whirring and snarling bass licks. The mood then changes again, dropping the tempo lazily to lull you into a false sense of security, before darkness engulfs and it fades.

This is a seriously well-produced EP, with elements thrown in from just about every sound and style. Once it takes hold, ‘JVCKWOOD’ will have you gasping for more.
