DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026: The Real Ranking

The DJ Mag Top 100 has landed, David Guetta is No. 1 for a record sixth time, and the annual debate has already begun. Martin Garrix is No. 2, Anyma jumps to No. 3, Charlotte de Witte is No. 6, Armin van Buuren No. 7 and FISHER No. 9. Black Coffee moves up three places to No. 14, while Shimza makes his debut at No. 75.

The strange thing about the list is how quickly those numbers become treated as fact. Is Black Coffee really the 14th-best DJ in the world? Is Shimza 75th? Has Anyma genuinely become seven places “better” than he was last year?

There isn't really a way to answer that. A DJ set isn't a measurable competition, and what makes one artist exceptional can have very little to do with what makes another one work. The Top 100 doesn't attempt to solve that either. It is a public vote, with fans choosing five DJs, and this year votes came from 234 territories.

That becomes more revealing when you look at the movement. Fred again.. climbs 17 places to No. 16. John Summit, Mau P and CHRIS STASSY each jump 22 places, while The Martinez Brothers rise to No. 28. At the other end, Eric Prydz falls 25 places and Vini Vici drops 39. New names including Josh Baker, Mahmut Orhan, Prospa, Cloonee, Joseph Capriati, Sonny Fodera and KI/KI also make their way into the list.

It's difficult to read those changes as a scoreboard of DJ ability. They make much more sense as a picture of where audiences are putting their attention.

That is particularly interesting for South Africa. Black Coffee remains inside the top 20, while Shimza's first appearance puts another South African artist on the global list. South Africa was also one of the biggest voting countries in Africa, alongside Algeria and Morocco.

There is also a more practical reason artists still care about where they land. A Top 100 placing travels well. It works in a biography, a press release or a booking pitch, giving promoters an immediate sense of an artist's profile. It doesn't tell them what will happen when the DJ actually plays, but it does tell them there is already an audience behind the name.

Which brings us back to Guetta.

Whether he is the world's best DJ is almost beside the point. More than four decades into his career, he is still selling out major shows, holding two Ibiza residencies and drawing audiences on a scale most artists can only dream of. His three sold-out Stade de France shows this year moved more than 240,000 tickets.

The number at the top of the list doesn't settle the argument about who is best. What it does show is the scale of the audience still paying attention.

Maybe that's why the Top 100 has survived for so long. It isn't really a definitive answer to the question of who is the best DJ in the world. It's a yearly snapshot of who has the reach, the audience and the profile to make the biggest global electronic music poll matter.

And every October, we come back to see who made the cut.

DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2026

David Guetta

Martin Garrix

Anyma

Alok

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike

Charlotte de Witte

Armin Van Buuren

Timmy Trumpet

FISHER

Vintage Culture

Calvin Harris

Don Diablo

Peggy Gou

Black Coffee

Afrojack

Fred again..

Lost Frequencies

Steve Aoki

KSHMR

W&W

Reinier Zonneveld

Tiësto

Carl Cox

John Summit

Skrillex

Indira Paganotto

Nicky Romero

The Martinez Brothers

Hardwell

Illenium

Keinemusik

Alan Walker

Jamie Jones

Swedish House Mafia

Paul van Dyk

Korolova

Michael Bibi

Dom Dolla

Oliver Heldens

Josh Baker

Solomun

Mahmut Orhan

Claptone

Joel Corry

R3hab

Mochakk

Amelie Lens

HUGEL

Lilly Palmer

GORDO

James Hype

Maddix

Marshmello

Zedd

Mau P

Alesso

Boris Brejcha

Bassjackers

CHRIS STASSY

DJ Snake

Miss Monique

Eric Prydz

ATB

Sara Landry

Kölsch

Ben Nicky

Sub Zero Project

Joseph Capriati

Liu

ARTBAT

Vini Vici

Wade

Nora En Pure

B Jones

Shimza

Quintino

Lucas & Steve

Giuseppe Ottaviani

Padre Guilherme

Sonny Fodera

Deborah De Luca

Nico Moreno

Ferry Corsten

Cloonee

Mosimann

PAWSA

Above & Beyond

Marnik

The Chainsmokers

Plastik Funk

Deadmau5

MATTN

Nils van Zandt

Prospa

¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U

Cuebrick

Marlon Hoffstadt

Honey Dijon

DubVision

KI/KI

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">The global version of the internationally renowned ULTRA Music Festival will again be making it's way to South African shores in 2017 with two massive shows planned in Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium on Friday 24 February and in Johannesburg at the Expo Centre Nasrec on Saturday 25 February.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">International superstars Dash Berlin, KSHMR and DJ Snake will join the previously announced headliners David Guetta and Martin Garrix on the ULTRA South Africa main stage. Support from the likes of Black Coffee, Felix Jaehn, Headhunterz and Nic Fanciulli round out the highly anticipated phase 2 lineup which was announced today.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Dash Berlin is no stranger to ULTRA South Africa; this Dutch trance veteran has been contributing to the international scene for over a decade. He’s worked with icons such as Justin Timberlake, Usher, N.E.R.D. and Lenny Kravitz to name just a few. His performance on ULTRA South Africa’s main stage in 2016 blew the crowd away; expect Dash to bring energy levels to a peak at ULTRA in February.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">KSHMR (pronounced Kashmir), real name Niles Hollowell-Dhar, was awarded "The Highest New Entry" on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ list, and has since moved up 11 places this year to the No.12 spot. As a producer, he’s one of the world’s best and most loved, but as a live act he takes things to a whole new level.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">DJ Snake is the French DJ and record producer stunning the dance music world with his ability to create smash hit after smash hit. He most recently launched his first studio album ‘Encore’ featuring collaborations with icons Justin Bieber, Skrillex and more. DJ Snake was also behind one of the biggest and most iconic soundtracks of this generation, his collaboration with Major Lazer - “Lean On”. Expect to hear a range of unreleased future hits from Snake's performance at ULTRA South Africa.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">The eclectic support lineup is packed full of international superstars including HeadHunterz, real name William Rebergen, the Dutch DJ who is known for his hard hitting, energetic sets and who has worked with previous ULTRA South Africa artists like W&W and Krewella. HeadHunterz will be shaking up the sound with his banging big room set in Cape Town and JHB.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Next up, Felix Jaehn, the prodigal German tropical house DJ and producer that went number 1 in 20 countries with his remix of Omi's 'Cheerleader', will bring a summer sound to SA that that will surely get the girls dancing and the boys smiling.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">ULTRA South Africa will also be bringing the RESISTANCE stage back, with its deep and grimy sound for those that like to get down and dirty….
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Nic Fanciulli needs little introduction after completing a truly successful RESISTANCE world tour in 2016 with ULTRA Worldwide. Anyone who watched him on the RESISTANCE stages around the world or was at the legendary Space Ibiza closing party will know exactly how good this British DJ and producer is at getting a dance floor going, and keeping it going long into the night.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Joining Nic on this year’s RESISTANCE program is Black Coffee. Undoubtedly South Africa’s proudest current export, he started his career around 1995 and since then has played at P Diddy’s house party in Miami, taken home gold at the DJ Awards in Ibiza, remixed Avicii’s ‘Lay Me Down’ and much, much more. Expect him to bring his magical A-Game to the stage; something that Ultranauts will remember long after the festival is over.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">The local support act line-up is a who’s who of South Africa’s top talent including:
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Timo Odv, Pascal & Pearce, DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Crazy White Boy, P.H, DJ Milkshake, DJ Shimza, Vigilante, DJ Dimplez, Kyle Watson, Strange Loving, Mark Stent, Ryan Murgatroyd, Vimo, Chunda Munki, Kyle Cassim, Yeti, Dean Fuel, Household Funk, Saubomb, Ricardo Da Costa
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Plus Even More Local Artists To Be Announced Closer To The February 2017 Event.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">The ULTRA Angels will also be returning to beautiful South Africa to grace the stages with their hypnotic dancing and gorgeous costumes.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">So, in summary, ULTRA South Africa 2017 is bringing 35 top quality artists from around the world to perform over 2 days in 2 cities, on 3 stages per city to tens of thousands of screaming fans at each show!
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

Gianni Romano, Carlo Grieco, and Peppe Folliero have become quite soon familiar with the Italian club scene first and being approached by major indie labels a few months later in order to join them as new producers.

Many more productions as Daddy's Groove have been released since 2008 all of them being spinned by massive djs as well as getting picked up by major club labels like Axtone, JackBack, Defected, Spinnin', Doorn Records, Ultra Records….just to name a few.

Along with their well-received releases, they started touring over the world and playing massive gigs such as Swedish House Mafia's Masquerade Motel, entered the residents of David Guetta's Fuck Me I'm Famous parties in Ibiza and Miami, and other top clubs such as Ministry Of Sound, Las Vegas' Marquee Day Club, Zouk Singapore or Pacha Sydney, conquering all continents.

Rob Adans) - #2 / Stellar - #3 / Vertigo (ft. Cryogenix) - #4 / Tilt - #4.

Aside their original works and remixes, they also had their hands in the productions of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and David Guetta's latests albums.

To top it all, in August 2013, they joined Tomorrowland's famous mainstage with David Guetta, Afrojack & Nicky Romero to debut their higly-anticipated track "Surrender" (ft. Mindshake).

This year they will keep the releases coming, after hitting Beatport's top 10 once again in January with "Miners", their latest track "Synthemilk", a collab with Congorock peaked #3 on Beatport's Top 10.

the Gianni’s record shop, I (Carlo) was a techno producer/dj and Gianni was an
expert of house music, I used to produce with my personal name and we tryied a
track together loving the sound we did, it was a mix between techno and house so
we decided to start a new project called Daddy’s Groove involving also Peppe.
The name came up because our fathers didn’t trust too much in this kind of job,
they would have liked more some kind of “classic” jobs so we dedicated our
dream to them.

Simon Lee : First on our list this month is this brilliant official remix of "Sticky Fingers" from Pierce Fulton! I love his take on this, I really can imagine this on a lot of festival sets this summer. Good on Anjunabeats for picking a rising talent for this. Make sure you catch his guestmix on ABGT Radio too.

Alvin : Certainly a different take from the original. Both of which are good in their essence but I’d most likely play the original early in the set. Pierce Fulton remix of this track has definitely converted it into something fun which many can relate too especially during this summer, and Malaysia feels like summer all year long!

SL : This one was my pick. I personally think David Guetta has produced records that many will remember years from now. I like the great guitar riff, it's a great party track, and a rockin' way to start a peaktime DJ set.

A: Has David Guetta gone ‘80s rock? Definitely heard some familiar Van Halen guitar elements but that’s as far as this track can go. Despite listening to it a couple of times, I can’t find anything to relate to, not even the music video. I’ll have to pass on this.

SL : There's still value to a well produced vocal trance record. "Burn The Sun" is a great example and it's been supported by Armin van Buuren, Bobina, Cosmic Gate, Andy Moor and many others. I can definitely hear the emotions on this one and I love the melody and breakdown. Polished to perfection.

A: Trance shall continue to live through the ages and “Burn the Sun” solidifies that statement. Kudos to Tommy Johnson for producing an immaculate trance track and Nanje Nowack for contributing her serene vocals.

A: What makes a great progressive house track? “New Life” is the answer! A splendid Bobby Rock production complemented by the brilliant vocals of Cimo Frnkel. It’s a perfect Lego fit. This has gotta be my favorite anthem this year and are both radio and festival worthy! Hit the link, what are you waiting for!

SL : I'm a fan of this label and was very happy to hear this uplifter. The vocals works well in a DJ set and it's quite simply a great progressive house record that's got great potential to go very far.

SL : I remember playing Eitro's "Character" on all our DJ sets last year. Great to see him back on this collab. Some of today's best records are being churned out by lesser known labels that emphasize on quality over marketing hype. "Cross" deserves a lot of exposure - simple but great production with all the right elements at the right time in my opinion. DJs get your copy now!

A: I was introduced to Russion duo Cosmo & Skorobogatiy by their track "Superstar." This collaboration with Eitro for “Cross” was by far no mistake and in the right direction. Loving the marching drums, the buildup and the drop, oh yeah! Perhaps the forming of a new trio from Russia? Woot!

Now, with ‘Lovers On The Sun’ also firmly on the horizon, there is scope for 2014 to be one of the most successful yet too.

Following the release of new collaborative single ‘Blast Off’, David Guetta & Kaz James have unveiled an exclusive lyric video to accompany the track. Presented in an innovative cartoon strip format akin to Guetta’s previous, Beatport chart-topping club releases ‘Shot Me Down’ and ‘Bad’, it provides a visually engaging, conceptual twist on the single itself.

Based around the vivid imagination of an aspiring cartoon guitarist, the video tells the story of his preparations for a live show and the subsequent emotions that come with performing. Quirky, colourful and uniquely pieced together, it references classic films like‘Godzilla’ and ‘King Kong’ in depicting an unlikely bond between guitarist and an all-conquering cartoon giant, as she rampages through a fictional city. Complimenting the high-energy, raucous nature of ‘Blast Off’, the video certainly serves as a great addition to the single and will be sure to prove a big hit with fans.

After hitting the #1 spot at Beatport for an unprecedented third time already this year with last club track ‘Bad’, David Guetta is back, this time in collaborative mood, with aussie DJ / Producer Kaz James. ‘Rock House’ smash ‘Blast Off’ was written at 30,000 feet during a flight between gigs whilst the pair were touring together on Guetta’s recent Asia run.

It blends Guetta’s huge, electro house rhythms with classic guitar riffs amidst a series of Kaz’s melodies and euphoric crescendos. Set for release on June 9th, it feels tailor-made for the dance floor and looks sure to be at the front of the major players record boxes this summer.

Galvanized by a rugged, 8-bar vocal that implores ravers to ‘put them hands up higher’, the track builds with heavy guitar riffs before exploding into life with a thumping lead bass line and twisted, strung-out synth interjects. Delivering the sort of club pressure that Guetta’s and James’s fans alike are guaranteed to love, expect ‘Blast Off’ to make serious waves on dance floors across the world.

To coincide with it’s release, David Guetta has also announced he is to kick off his ‘FMIF’ residency at Pacha Ibiza on Thursday, 29th May, ahead of taking in a bustling summer schedule. To be joined by Daddy’s Groove & Showtek, it follows hot off the back of an epic tour schedule that saw Guetta play a sold-out Spring residency at XS in Las Vegas, as well further sell out shows in Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington DC and New Orleans. He also embarked on a short Canadian tour and even found the time to play at Mexico’s largest dance music festival, Electric Planet in March.

To be hosted as a pool party scheduled to stay alive long into the night, expect this to recreate a festival atmosphere in one of Ibiza’s most infamous clubbing spaces.

Not content to stop there, Guetta is also confirmed to play headline festival slots in France, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, Russia, Spain and Scotland before the season is out, in what’s shaping up to be another incredible summer for one of the world’s most iconic, globe-trotting DJs.

Kaz James has also announced he’s set to play alongside David at both Pacha and Ushuaia in Ibiza this summer, and has also confirmed he will have his own residency at Paradise Club in Mykonos. Having recently signed an extended deal with One Love Records, James, who already boasts remix work for the likes of Skrillex, Kaskade & The Gossip, as well as production credits for Macy Gray, Kelis and even The Neptunes, it’s clear that Kaz is all set for an equally exciting summer.
