Julie Thompson Eye Of The Storm

<span style="background-color: white; color: #979797; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Since her simultaneous debut/breakthrough alongside James Holden on the long ascribed classic ‘Nothing’,</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><span class="il">Julie</span> <span class="il">Thompson</span> has never been far from the minds & hearts of electronic music’s most discerning. She’s been the voice/front-woman on hits from a wide range of producers, Tiësto, the Freemasons, Sean Tyas and the Freestylers to name but a few. Through tracks like ‘My Enemy’, ‘No Frontiers’ and ‘Let Go’ she’s also notably become the vocal-muse/go-to-girl for Finnish high-fliers Super8 & Tab. Bringing her gifted lyricism and soul-sear vocals to the broadest possible spectrum of electronic dance music, <span class="il">Julie</span>’s catalogue has come to encompass house, trance, progressive, dubstep, breakbeat, electro and many nexuses in between. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now, five years after she first made the jump with the ‘Feeling For Corners’ album, <span class="il">Julie</span> is once again crossing the threshold to assume the solo artist role. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Over 11 sensational tracks, written and recorded over the last 20 months, the British singer has crafted the follow-up that fans from across the electronic music lands have long sought. ‘Eye Of The Storm’ has all the expressive introspection, from-the-soul vocals, story-tell lyrics and absorbing metaphor of a singer without contemporary, all approached with her no-stylistic-borders methodology. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<strong><div style="text-align: justify;">
<strong><a href="http://t.ymlp276.net/umqqqaaauqmjeatayyataeubyjj/click.php" target="_blank">Pre-order your copy of <span class="il">Julie</span> <span class="il">Thompson</span> - Eye Of The Storm here</a> </strong></div>
</strong><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
More through nature than design, <span class="il">Julie</span>’s debut album is one that’ll spark the broadest range of emotions… Uplifting, touching and meditative, it is also by turns creative, organic and at times bold, to the point of audacious. On completing the album, she said: A friend once said to me 'when you hit rock bottom there's only sand beneath your feet" and it was from this place that I began to write the songs that would eventually become Eye of the Storm. This album represents transition. How light is born from darkness, how love is born from loss and how stillness comes from the most chaotic of places. I hope you enjoy this album! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The vocally sanguine overture of ‘New Day’, the floor-engagement of Super8 & Tab collab ‘Your Secret’s Safe’ and ‘We Are Stars’ unchecked uplift collectively summon the ‘Eye’s storm at pace. Expanding its style, ‘Fortune Smiles’ conveys atmospherically bleached out synths and speedily paced, running riffs, which are smartly played off against <span class="il">Julie</span>’s lyrical infiltration. ‘My Paradise’ meanwhile brings EDM dimensions to the album, while ‘Loved’ front-ends with bleepy echo-ism, pays off with a rippingly riffed leadline and is bound together by her vocal optimism. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With stylistic contrast, the album transcends again with the bliss-fest of ‘Dive’ and the slo-mo breaks and chanteuse-ian lament of ‘Freeze’. At the midpoint, alongside London-based twosome Pyramid, <span class="il">Julie</span> brings downtempo dubstep, breakbeat & electro aspects to the album, delivering both its titular and tangible eye of the storm. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Grafting ever more layers, deeper, more trance-progressive textures come virtue of ‘Natural’ with Ad Brown, while the bittersweet Andy Duguid-produced ‘Skin & Bones’ induces a cooler edged anthemia. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As polished as it is accomplished, admirably far-reaching and allowing her incredible songwriting abilities and extraordinary vocal range full reign, ‘Eye Of The Storm’ delivers on the first great electronic music artist album of 2015. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;">The last single to come from the ‘Magenta’ albums’ track run arrives daisy fresh from its summer-released ‘LIVE’ expansion pack. After a raft of vocal & production collaborations with Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila and a long list of other luminaries, ‘Liverpool’ finds Giuseppe in solo mode… and thunderous form.</span></div>

</strong><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">‘Magenta’ has been the colour, quickest to the lips to fraternity-trance over the last 24 months. The album marked not only Giuseppe’s sophomore long-player outing, but also the Italian DJ/producer/performer’s second coming.</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">With ‘Liverpool’ he waves a fond farewell not just to 2014, but also to the last two ‘Magenta’-filled years, with a freight train of a track that out on the floor is conspicuously taking precisely zero prisoners! Front end, ‘Liverpool’ is all tightly coiled tech-trance bristle, with deep, stormy FX, hard-echo sonics and single-minded thrust. Break-side, Giuseppe eases the pressure, brings the strings and opens the track up to a more rapturous sign-off.</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Less rapture, more straight-up raptor, Standerwick’s Remix goes airborne inside the first minute! Recently named one of DJ Mag six to watch in trance over the coming year, the English producer lets rip with a broadside of synth bass and ballistics, the likes of which the floor may never fully recover from!</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div>

Sied van Riel Feat. Alicia Madison – Gravity

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjayUpIGIKnY25vvQFfvc00iz2CPiwRHD9sYpR1LmLWl_UzEGZH6J0_xbbQuaiZic00ih8UVRezXoEttyJ_jS6qQ0MQg_pca7rIdOwi1WnGo4wRgvFsCWTOCR6v_EvNe40uDjC2wT4m44E7/s1600/Black-Hole-651-0+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" loading="lazy" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjayUpIGIKnY25vvQFfvc00iz2CPiwRHD9sYpR1LmLWl_UzEGZH6J0_xbbQuaiZic00ih8UVRezXoEttyJ_jS6qQ0MQg_pca7rIdOwi1WnGo4wRgvFsCWTOCR6v_EvNe40uDjC2wT4m44E7/s1600-rw/Black-Hole-651-0+copy.jpg" title="Sied van Riel Feat. Alicia Madison – Gravity" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">On both the singles & mix-comp front, Sied van Riel’s juice to produce has shown no signs of abating over the last six months. With the momentum flowing, he’s gotten together with US singer-songwriter Alicia Madison for a thoroughbred release that’s going to give summer one almighty lift! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
Alongside the stellar Original Mix, ‘Gravity’s gravities are reinforced by a contingent of high-grade European remixes, with the likes of Sneijder, David Forbes & Bastian Salbart dropping trance-translations. Also on board are remakes from the other side of the pond, with house king Jose Nuñez & Chicago duo Stephano & Torio giving ‘Gravity’ yet more pull. </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://t.ymlp236.net/uehywafaubyhsaiaejbadaeubyjj/click.php" target="_blank">Pick up some 'Gravity' at Beatport here</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
The intro of Sied’s Original mix engages the prog-drive, setting up an atmospheric, moodily powerful transit to the drop and the vocals of Alicia Madison. She mirrors that theme to a tee, with introspective verses, which - backed by the Riel one’s surging riffs - finally lift the chorus to its big conclusion. </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
With a string of A-list attention-grabbing singles, the impact of Gdansk’s Bastian Salbart has been sizeable over the last six months. That fine work continues with a remix of ‘Gravity that’s tough when it needs to be, atmospheric & emotive when it wants to be, but works the floor like a mutha from first beat till last! </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
David Forbes’ Full On Mix ups the BPM count to peak-hour speed, deepening the drums and letting the B-lines run wild. In the drop he masses the pads, bringing heart, soul & yet further implication to Alicia’s vocals, before tying it all off with a force multiplier of a mainline. </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
Preparing to hit another remix home run, it might be time to notch that safety harness a little tighter as Sneijder approaches the plate. The man on the vocal majority of Planet Trance’s lips at the moment, he primes his mix with tough, ripping beats and the looped and echoed harmonics of Alicia’s tones. Suffusing the break with evocative savannah-ish chords, he finally recouples the 303, re-engages the synths and with no small amount of sonic bombast sends his remix of ‘Gravity’ clean out of the park! </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
Trance interpretations locked, Black Hole has ensured that floors of other natures are equally well serviced. Making a rarer appearance these day, House is the feeling on Subliminal legend Jose Nuñez, remap. Funkily rolling drums, skipping, open hi-hats, Disclosure-ish sub-bass, EQ with IQ and full effect FX has his mix make short work of more groove-orientated floors. </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
Last but by no means least in this most epic of remix line-ups comes the pairing of Joe Christofano & Victor Comforte aka DJs Sephano & Torio. Hot off the back of their remix of Tiësto’s ‘Just Be’ earlier in the year, they deliver ‘Gravity’ comparably fine festival-ism thrills & spills of the electro/prog-house variety. </div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
You’ve seen the movie, now hear the track! A true force of nature, ‘Gravity’ gravitates to dancefloors this August. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;">A tradition that’s subconsciously linked their last 4 years with a 3 strong arc of ‘Slowmotion’ tracks, each has augured a major new Solarstone or Orkidea release or project. As the first purpose-produced track from the just-released third ‘Electronic Architecture’, no.3 in the series is no different. With the dark, long and supremely strong Original mix now out in clubland, kicking ass, taking names & picking up big-name DJ support far & wide, its time for some variations on the theme. In store, from Solarstone and Orkidea, two very different and individual takes on the third ‘Slowmotion’. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Putting the capital ‘E’ in ‘Epic’, Orkidea’s version-excursion extends to a full 13 and a ½ minutes of imaginatively produced and complexly arranged electronic music. Into his extended high-on-drama intro, the Fin pours dystopian bass & sporadic drums patterns into long, near filmic synth sequences. Throbbing with an atmospherically brooding menace, Orkidea then engages the 4/4 drums, builds up ‘Slowmotion III’s retro-futuristic female vocals and draws it out, seemingly infinitely, into progressive-house submersion.</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For his take, Solarstone’s lightens the Original Mix’s netherworld tones by degrees. Increasing the drive shaft behind the production and using a fresh raft of 80s inspired FX, he binds the call of the vocal, the panning shift of the chiming sub-riff and the ethereal sweep of its mainline atmosphere decisively into the mix.</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div>

AD BROWN - SOMETHING FOR THE PAIN

<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-align: center; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The last few years have seen composer, producer, DJ and A&R
man Ad Brown keep the EDM universe supplied with a steady flow of highly polished,
broad-span-appealing electronic music. Locking on to the beneath-the-surface
magnetism of his productions, an ever-increasing directory of world-class DJs
have rallied to his sound. Now the young Londoner is ready to step centre stage
with the release of his debut long-player. Over a scrupulously edited collection
of music, he matches his own inimitable production stylings - that of a cooler,
more cultured house, trance & more with an attuned ear for memorable,
accessible lyrics and engaging vocals. <br />
<br />
If you’re starting to feel an itch or twitch for music with less glitch, it’s
time to take… ‘Something For The Pain’!<br style="mso-special-character: line-break;" />

took the album decision whilst on a travel sabbatical, journeying around the
Asia and the South Pacific and commenced its production the week of his return.
Many months in the making (“close to 30” says Brown), and condensed down from

to get sounding exactly the way I wanted it. Its also taken time, but as the
saying goes ‘the devil is in the detail’ and I wouldn’t have had its production

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: inherit;">‘Something
For The Pain’ embarks with the spacious redolent chill of ‘More’ and its
lead-out single, ‘Ready And Waiting’. Through their verses and choruses, vocalists
Hannah Ray and Tess instil an epic nature to the songs, thawing the
productions’ cooler edges and bringing heat and harmony to the album’s
overture.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Championed
by Ferry Corsten, most recently on his Once Upon A Night 4’ album, ‘Thrive’ begins
to hardwire more driving, floor-facing tones into ‘Something For The Pain’s
system. Co-produced alongside Miami studio-head Stan Kolev, the pair
incorporate a grooving feel-good bassline nature, tying it idiosyncratically to
cool trance-progressive tones. ‘Tears’ meanwhile is a rare instrumental from
Brown. Basing itself around a chiming xylophonic leadline, it deals complex yet
memorable note movements.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Hung off
resonating piano notes, reverberant stormy FX (recorded in Indonesia during his
travels) and drum-free immersion, ‘Sorry’s half-whispered/half-sung lyrics, deliver
‘Something’s midpoint interlude. It’s an ephemeral rest-up though as ‘Pulse’ (produced
alongside stateside Shawn Mitiska) plunges into big, sonic tubular mainlines,
bringing greater force and stridence to the album. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0cm; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The
trance-toned, Kerry Leva sung ‘One More Night’ and the transposing riffs and ever-exacting
production of ‘All I Need’ deliver the album some of its most uplifting moments.
‘Been A While’ brings further contrast through its classic Chicago house
themes, whilst vocalist Arielle Maren infuses both list and lament on ‘Like The
Sunrise’. ‘Lie Awake’ again highlights Ad’s innate ability to pair catchy
vocals (Hannah Ray again) with accessible productions, while ‘Tonight’ gifts
the album its pensive, touching, poignant dénouement. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Across
14 advanced-beyond-his-years pieces of music, Ad Brown delivers a flawless
first album. Flush with lyrical depth, an inspiring lack of cliché, vocal turns
from class-of-tomorrow singer/songwriter talent and cornered around his
precocious, hyper-polished studio work, ‘Something’ is a blueprint for a debut
album. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">"</span><i style="font-family: inherit;">So here is the official music video for
‘7even’. Before you watch, I thought I'd give you a little insight into the
song and the video.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><br /></span></div>
<i style="font-family: inherit; line-height: normal;">

As many of you know now, this song was inspired by the life of a little girl
called Olivia Downie. I did not know Olivia like some articles have speculated
but I was touched by her story as were many here in the North East of Scotland.
At a young age Olivia was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Over the years
us local's helped raise funds to help and send Olivia to Germany and Mexico to
try alternate treatment when the UK's hospitals could do nothing. It was whilst
in Mexico she turned very ill and needed an air ambulance home. Within 5 days
£150,000 was raised to bring her home where, sadly, she passed away age seven.
<br /><br />
On the day she died, I sat down in the studio to make a new track for the
album. She was constantly in my thoughts, probably as I to had lost family due
to Cancer. I started playing the keys of the piano very softly and childlike,
almost as if like a child was playing. The music just fell together very easily
and the inspiration just flowed. <br /><br />
I contacted Jaren for the vocals and explained the story behind the track and
she to embraced the story. I think she nailed the essence of the track. I'm
very proud of her! <br /><br />
So, now onto the music video... We approached the same team who produced my video
for "In This Moment" (Junction 15), again, explaining the story. They
came up with a concept, which we all fell in love with. It's a very artistic
piece displaying the different stages of grief. Denial, bargaining, anger and acceptance.
For me, it’s moving, it's scary, it's sad all in one video. Much like the
emotions we go through when someone close leaves us. </i></div>
