Sea To Sun Recordings Use Cutting Edge Motion Graphics To Create Latest Video
VenSun, the collaborative electronic music project between producer, David Vendetta and singer / songwriter, Sylvia Tosun, have announced the release of a new music video for their latest single, ‘The Dragon Flies’, on Sea To Sun Recordings. Set to the hugely popular, Disco Fries remix, the avant-garde video was produced by New York based, boutique, motion design studio, Dorian Orange and uses front line technology, utilising integrated 3D body scanning techniques and cutting edge graphics to push the boundaries of visual experience and mesmerise wide-eyed clubbers everywhere...
Never ones to stand still, respected New York label, Sea To Sun, felt that ‘The Dragon Flies’ deserved more than your average dance music video. The track is blowing up, receiving heavy DJ and radio support, and hitting the top 10 in both the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and the UK Music Week Upfront Club Chart. And so, the decision was made to creatively collaborate with state-of-the-art, motion graphics studio, Dorian Orange, the team behind a recent bi-coastal holographic performance with M.I.A and Janelle Monae, and whose client roster includes, Coca Cola, Vogue and Panasonic to name a few. The resulting video is quite simply stunning.
The piece, directed by the hugely talented, Eric Knuble, combines live action footage, 3D scanning technology and leading motion graphics techniques that radically integrate 3D and 2D software. In layman’s terms, the video shows a dragon’s spectacular journey through an awe-inspiring, multi-dimensional universe. Using 3D projection mapping, Sylvia Tosun appears in different guises, performing the song, whilst also creating and interacting with the surrounding universe. The result is a truly captivating video that draws you into its world, providing perfect visuals for the uplifting music, driving beats and evocative vocals.
