BASTILLE TOURS SOUTH AFRICA.
PRESENTED BY NOKIA. POWERED BY 5FM.

UK chart-topping band, Bastille, landed in South Africa for the very first time and took to the stage for an electric performance last night at Cape Town’s Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Five thousand Cape Town fans who were quick on the mark  to get tickets to see Bastille’s first sold-out show on SA soil and you could barely hear the opening song as the crowd screamed with over-whelming excitement. The band performed recent chart-toppers, ‘Things We Lost In The Fire’, ‘Pompeii’, ‘Laura Palmer’ and ‘Overjoyed’, which echoed through the idyllic and scenic settings of Kirstenbosch Gardens. The mesmerised fans sang, danced and mingled with friends while enjoying the hit-makers’ signature sound from their cosy picnic spots.

Presenting sponsor Nokia, along with media sponsor powerhouse radio station 5FM announced first-class local band, Bed On Bricks as the supporting act to perform alongside Bastille in Cape Town, and they definitely did not disappoint with theireagerly anticipated comeback after a three-year hiatus. It was a fitting celebration as they enjoy 10 years together as a band.

This Friday will see another 5,000 excited fans attending the second sold-out show at Kirstenbosch Gardens as Bastille return to the stage and perform their hugely popular hits once more. As they end their national tour, the band will perform to a third sold-out audience of 15,000 at Emmarentia Dam on Saturday, where local favourites Matthew Mole, Beatenberg and Bed on Bricks will play ahead of the British musos under the Jozi sky.

To cement these memorable concert moments, fans were able to capture photos at the Nokia Lumia 1020 Photo Booth. Visit Nokia South Africa on Facebook to find your photo and tag yourself.

Selected games were also offered at the 5FM activation area. Winners of the life size games walked away with 5FM prizes that everyone wanted to get their hands on.

Seed Experiences certainly raised the bar this time and there is no doubt that Bastille made their mark on South Africa and their loyal following.
