The New Hype: Buying Productions

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS NEW HYPE OF BUYING PRODUCTIONS ?

On Saturday Nicky Romero took to twitter asking the following question.

buying prodcutions

So readers what do you think of this new hype?

Here's what we think:

We all know this is not a new hype as it has been happening for years and we most definitely do not agree with it. Not only do we think that it is unfair to the artist actually producing the track but to the listener as well. Scary is that this applies not only to underground tracks but to chart topping numbers as well. Surely listeners are entitled to know who the actual producer behind the tracks is. This brings us to wonder if the artists who actually do this (buy tracks) are in it just for the fame and money or for the love and passion of music. As die hard music fans we know that we prefer passion over fakes for the simple reason that we and undoubtedly all you music fans value talent and people who showcase their talent in the correct manner. In our opinion you either have the creative ability to be in the music industry or you don't and If you don't than you should follow another dream. Furthermore, if you have to buy tracks and pass them off as your own then you should most definitely not be in the industry to begin with. It is disrespectful to other artists and to fans.

That said, the burning question to ask is: Is the increase in this new trend saturating an already saturated market? Yes we think so, for us this creates tracks with the all round same sound, even though they may be quality productions, tracks tend to lack creativity and originality. If you want to be famous fine but we believe that if a producer chooses to partake in this new trend then the least they should do is inform the music public about it.
