Klangkarussell announces Miami Music Week appearances

 taste of new album ‘Netzwerk’

Listen to “Netzwerk” in its entirety

Klangkarussell (aka Adrian Held and Tobias Rieser) is a name you’re going to be hearing a lot of in 2014. The 2013 single'Sonnentanz' was top ten in six countries, including number three in the UK with the vocal version of the track, ‘Sun Don’t Shine’ feat. Will Heard while reaching over one million in sales. And now it’s time for the USA to climb aboard as Klangkarussell announces a string of Miami Music Week performances and new single ‘Netzwerk’ coming April 11 on Casablanca Records. A full artist album is coming later in the year, so best get on early!

You’ll have four opportunities to check out Klangkarussell in Miami. On Tuesday, 25th they’re playing the Viceroy Hotel rooftop; On Friday, 28th it’s double duty with a daytime performance at Sweetwater and their own headline event later that night at Bardot Miami. And on Saturday, 29th they are playing the Windish Showcase at Grand Central where Klangkarussell will play alongside some of the agency’s finest talent.

Klangkarussell (Tobias thought of the name, German for 'Sound Carousel') was born in 2011. 'Sonnentanz' wasuploaded to their Soundcloud without fanfare and it was only when an anonymous YouTube account holder uploaded it from Klangkarussell's Soundcloud to the site in February 2012 (with the random, if perfect, image of a woman in tai chi pose, silhouetted against a sunset) that it took off. Melodic yet driving, melancholy yet optimistic, hypnotic yet danceable, featuring saxophone stabs, jazzed out vibraphone and woodwind – yet at the same time a piece of utterly contemporary electronica, to date across the instrumental and vocal version it has 20 million views and over 10,000 comments in every language under the sun. There's even a ten hour looped version, for those (and there are plenty) who just can't get enough. The fascinating thing is that Klangkarussell didn’t put any effort into promoting the track. Fans made it what it is and it’s a six-minute testament to the power of a great tune in the digital age.

Soon the pair were being asked to DJ at ever bigger and more high profile events, mixing up their own productions with selected tunes in a show that's smashed everywhere from Pukkelpop (20,000 in attendance) in Belgium to the massive Street Parade in Zurich. Next came a call from Universal, and after wowing the major label with a private gig, they were signed up to create their debut album, due later this year… but first, a little taste by way of the new single ‘Netzwerk’. It’s a stunning instrumental and just the start of what’s to come.
