Laidback Luke & Peking Duck - Mufasa

With 2013 all but wrapped up, don't expect the almost tyrannical reign of the hard-hitting Dutch sound on dance music to let up just yet. With Laidback Luke and Peking Duck's latest effort 'Mufasa' is firmly planted in the sound that became characteristic of the festival circuit last year.

Although starting out with an intriguing build up, when the production reaches full stride one can't help but have a feeling of having been in similar territory before. Though with each listen it becomes apparent this is definitely a grower. Littered with tribal chants and towering drums, you’re left to conjure up clichéd images of African savannahs, beating drums and bodies twisting and writhing in the orange glow of a bonfire. Expect this one to both enchant and lay waste to dance floors near you.
