Thomas Azier, the Berlin-based dark electro-pop auteur released his chilling single “Ghostcity” over the summer via Casablanca Records (iTunes), and now he’s shared the accompanying video with VIBE, which you can also stream/share via YouTube.

On “Ghostcity,” the multi-instrumentalist, producer, and artist fashions a monumental melodic hook between skittering synths, bombastic beats, and a flurry of futuristic electronics actually recorded in an abandoned Soviet factory. Mirroring the location's expansive and warm era of despair, it's an amalgam of shuddering dance sheen and artful pop bliss. Get ready to get lost in the dark, shadowy alleys of "Ghostcity."
At the age of 19, Thomas Azier relocated to Berlin from the Netherlands. Amassing an arsenal of synthesizers alongside his faithful laptop and honing his vocal delivery, he developed an inimitable style, teetering between '80s electro and modern alternative pop. He first broke onto the European scene with his debut EP Hylas 001, featuring the single "Red Eyes,” which soon became a live staple worldwide.

Hylas 002 followed shortly after, and the trilogy is set to be complete when the third installment/debut album arrives in early 2014. For now, listeners can immerse themselves in the first two installments of the Hylas trilogy, which Casablanca re-released over the summer as well.
