<span style="font-family: inherit;">Convinced since his early years that music was his reason to be, Gelab was one of those kids that spent their childhood with headphones stuck to his head, preferring the latest Dance hits rather than Football games and cassette collections rather than card collections.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">He soon changed his video games for a synthesizer, which he spent many sleepless nights with, discovering sounds and rhythms that gradually conﬁrmed his taste for electronic melodies.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Over time, his taste for production was extrapolated to the dance ﬂoor where, at the ripe age of 16, he discovered another fundamental character of the electronic music scene: the DJ. After several years deﬁning his technique and searching for his musical style, Gelab found in EDM his ﬂagship sound, which he is the most comfortable with, not only producing but also in his sessions.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">From this point, his career goes in crescendo and Gelab gets to play at the most iconic dance music events, such as Space Ibiza’s Closing Fiesta, Miami’s Ultra Music Festival or Space Moscow’s resounded Opening Party, sharing booth with the best artists of the international scene.</span></div>

Life has been changing quite dramatically for a 25 year old British-Japanese, producer/dj by the name of Maya Jane Coles and having recently released her biggest body of work to date; her debut album "Comfort" things look set to keep on changing...</div>

Well, Maya is somewhat of an enigma in today’s music world; on a typical Maya Jane Coles record, Maya will have written, produced, engineered, arranged, mixed and performed every element of the track; sometimes top-lining and, on most occasions, even designing the sleeve artwork too.</div>

First intrigued by the musical mixture of sounds from dub to punk to soul to jazz to world to classical music played at home; Maya began to pick up  a few instruments herself and started to produce. </div>

Production felt like the natural next step to realise her own vision at every part of the process from beginning to end. First producing hip-hop at 15, Maya migrated to dubbier electronic sounds aged 16; before a watershed moment in her life, Maya experienced good underground house in the clubs and warehouses of East London and started to make that house records to culminating in her first release “Sick Panda” on Dogmatik back in in 2007.</div>

The release led to gigs at events like the BBC Electric Proms and Bestival.</div>

For many though it was “What They Say” on Franck Roger’s Real Tone label that first switched them on to Maya’s work with the track standing tall in both the sales and critics charts on Beatport; and enjoying a No1, No2 and No3 placing on Resident Advisor’s chart in October, November and December 2010 respectively.</div>

Further Maya productions ‘Don’t Put Me In Your Box’ EP (Hypercolour), “Humming Bird” EP (Hypercolour), ‘Focus Now’ EP (20:20 Vision), “Beat Faster” EP (Mobilee) cemented that this was no fluke garnering across the board peer support as varied as Skream, Richie Hawtin, Groove Armada, Jamie Jones, Diplo, Miss Kittin, Mike Skinner, Anja Schneider, Pete Tong and Carl Cox alongside a plethora of the underground DJ community.</div>

Refusing to be constrained by genre, Maya continued to branch out her production credits of other artists such as Alpines cover of Carly Simon’s ‘Why’ and more recently the 2013 released Little Boots’ “Superstitious Heart” - a trait that we may begin to see an awful lot more of over the coming months…</div>

Under the bass-electronic alias Nocturnal Sunshine, Maya also remixed emergent talents Jess Mills. Karin Park and Alpines, and originals ‘Can’t Hide The Way I Feel/Broke’ which made fans of Joy Orbison, Benga, Craig Richards and Scuba to name but a few shaking any doubts that she was merely a one trick pony producer.</div>

Indeed, Maya has also enjoyed success as one half of live electronic duo She is Danger alongside vocalist Lena Cullen. Famed in particular for their remix work; She is Danger remixed artists from Gorillaz to Groove Armada with an acclaimed dubby reworking of Massive Attack’s ‘Girl, I Love You’ included on the band’s “Heligoland” deluxe album; picking up plaudits including RCRDLBL & Q Magazine’s ‘Track of the Day’, NME.com’s ‘Daily Download’ and smashing the Hypemachine top 10 multiple times. </div>

Maya has also remixed as ‘Maya Jane Coles’ for underground labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, and Get Physical as well as spreading her genred wings to put her own spin on tracks by Little Dragon, Tricky, Florence & The Machine, The Orb, Lianne La Havas, 2:54, Todd Terry and Bo Saris with more besides…</div>

Alongside her production and remixing credentials; Maya’s reputation as a DJ has reached heady proportions following her guest mixes for the likes of Resident Advisor, Louche, Enter, Trace A Line, Defected with a Mixmag cover-mount CD and a huge BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix also under her belt.</div>

Aged 17; Maya bought herself some 1210′s and started learning to mix on vinyl. </div>

By the age of 24, Maya had already played in over 30 countries racking up gigs at the likes of Panorama Bar (Berlin), Womb (Tokyo), Fabric (London), Trouw (Amsterdam), WHP (Manchester), Spy Bar (Chicago), Watergate (Berlin), Home (Sydney), Verboten (NYC), Zouk (Singapore), Lux (Lisbon), Fuse (Belgium) and Social Club (Paris). Not to mention taking control of the decks at Ibiza’s most renowned clubs Space, Pacha, Amnesia, and Ushuaia.</div>

In April 2012, Maya’s position as one of the world’s top DJs was solidified with the release of her multi-award winning edition to K7’s legendary DJ Kicks mix series which gained international chart success and massive critical praise.</div>

Maya released the tracks ‘Not Listening’ as Maya Jane Coles and ‘Meant to Be’ under Maya’s ‘Nocturnal Sunshine’ moniker as exclusive tracks from the compilation.  The mix also included tracks by the likes of Phil Kieran & White Noise Larse, Marcel Dettman and T.Williams and has proved to be one of the biggest commercial successes since the series began with the mix hitting the home pages of major sites such as Deezer, Aol Spinner and MTV Iggy.</div>

Club smashes “Getting Freaky” on Heidi’s Jackathon Jams label and a return to her original label home Dogmatik with the release of “Watcher” followed later in the year as well as her Ushuaia set broadcasted live as part of BBC Radio 1’s famed Ibiza Weekend.</div>

Maya’s final original release of 2012 was Maya’s much lauded genre defying release ‘Easier to Hide’ coming out her own I/AM/ME label in December hinting at what may be to come with the inclusion of album track “Easier to Hide” leading the EP.</div>

With her debut album having dropped in July 2013 Maya will have played in around 40 countries worldwide by the end of year taking in festivals like Fuji Rocks (Japan), Coachella (USA), Sonar (Spain), Ultra (USA), Lowlands (Holland), T in the Park (UK), Pukkelpop (Belgium), Bestival (UK), Creamfields (UK) and Summadayze (Australia) amongst countless others all around the world. Having previously played at Les Transmusicales (France), Melt (Germany), Benicassim (Spain), Electric Zoo (USA), Global Gathering (UK), Detroit Movement (USA) and Exit (Croatia) amongst others.</div>

I didn't really know anything about house and techno then, but I knew a lot more about how to use the equipment than they did!”</span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Separate Minds' first EP, released in 1988, caught the ear of Kevin Saunderson and Marc, still in his teens, ended up working with him for two years, engineering on Inner City records and honing his studio craft. And then came Burning, which he recorded with local vocalist Alana. “Alana didn't have the greatest voice,” says Marc, “but there was something about her, and we did that Burning vocal in one take. But that's how I like to work. I don't like to spend too much time getting things perfect – sometimes the mistakes sound better!”</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">The track was snapped up by Virgin in the US, and an album deal followed, which saw Marc moving to Brooklyn. With Always and For You further cementing his reputation, the remix offers started to flood in. Artists to get the MK treatment around this time included Bobby Brown, D'Influence, The Shamen, The B-52s, D:Ream, Moby, Pet Shop Boys and Bizarre Inc, to name but a few… yet it was a 1994 remix for then-unknown Scottish outfit Nightcrawlers that would see his star rise yet higher. Famously, his first mix of Push The Feeling On was rejected, so Marc – about to depart for a flight – quickly threw together another one. “I literally did that mix in about half an hour – on one monitor, because the other one had blown!” he laughs.</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Despite its inauspicious birth, Push The Feeling On [The Dub Of Doom] would go on to be a huge hit worldwide. Marc says he was largely unaware, at the time, of just how successful it was – “back then there was no internet, and I didn't DJ, so I wasn't out in clubs all the time” – but the remix requests started coming in faster than ever. One in particular he jumped at was Celine Dion's Misled: “I wanted to do a remix I could tell my mom about!” he says. “And I liked the idea of making a Celine Dion record work in a house club. The same with Freak'n U by Jodeci – the idea of making an R&B act have a smash house record appealed to me.”</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">But then things took a left turn. Tired of producing endless club mixes, Marc began to shop himself around as a songwriter and producer for hire… and after a chance meeting at the Motown offices, found himself working in the studio with Quincy Jones. Which is how Marc Kinchen became house music's own Lord Lucan, seemingly vanishing from the scene as, for the next ten years, he worked exclusively in the pop and R&B fields.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">From 2002 to 2006, Marc was an in-house producer with Will Smith, working on film and TV music. Eventually, feeling a desire to make records again, he struck out on his own once more – only to find the music industry landscape considerably altered. “But by this time, you had YouTube. I'd see my records on there, and all these comments, and I started to see how much love there still was for tracks I'd done 10, 15 years before.”</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">His decision to return to dance music was triggered by hearing Hotel Room Service by Pitbull. Noting the track's hefty Nightcrawlers sample, Marc got in touch with the Cuban-American rapper and ended up producing club tracks for him. Through his work for Pitbull, Marc began to hook up with the likes of Laidback Luke and Afrojack and “really start getting back into the house thing. It seems like the classic house sound is getting really popular again, so now seems like the perfect time to come back to it.”</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;">So for the past couple of years, the name MK has started cropping up on club flyers, as Marc commences a new stage of his career as a DJ – a role he previously shunned. And that's not the end of the story. He's still doing pop music, but Marc also has several house-related projects in the pipeline. His remix of Storm Queen's Look Right Through is currently making waves in clubland, there's some new material featuring Alana on its way, and he's been working on some deep house tracks with Lee Foss and Jamie Jones. Along with his brother – house producer Scotti Deep – he's also setting up a new label, Say Aah.</span></div>

reached the top of the Beatport charts, where it stayed for several weeks and
went on to become an international club hit. At the moment, their track
„Soulgood“ is charted in various Dj and download charts, plus video rotation on

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Bakermat, an alias for young Dutch producer Lodewijk Fluttert, had a quick rise. In just three months he gained a lot of views, likes and followers with his productions. He has always had an obsession with music, in many genres. From an early age the young Bakermat was into jazz and blues and discovered house music at the age of 12. By fanatically listening to every track that was posted on blogspots he had quickly built up a huge library. When he was 18, he went to the University of Utrecht to study Psychology. It was there that he discovered deep house and producing his own music.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">He started practising a lot with production and deejaying and quickly developed a sound of his own. His signature sound, deep house with jazz and soul influences, started to attract a lot of attention in a short time. He went from being an ordinary student with no musical network at all to a producer with labels and agencies knocking on his door. In September Bakermat signed a contract with agency Soulmax, knowing that they will bring him to the next level.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">His sets are filled with joy and happiness, and are always melodic. Saxophones, flutes, trumpets, Bakermat tries to use them frequently. The combination of these jazz instruments with deep house music is what makes Bakermat’s style unique. Still growing as an artist, Bakermat had a release in August 2013 on Delicieuse Records where he released the “Vandaag EP” consisting of the tracks Vandaag and Zomer (DM mix). Some other tracks that have been received with great enthusiasm are “Uitzicht”, “Black Cat John Brown” and “Strandfeest”. He is currently working on productions with other artists such as Arjuna Schiks, Goldfish and Tonique. A lot of work in progress is ready to be released and the gigs are lined up. Growth is what matters!</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Two years after hooking up with Solomun’s Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, and before long acclaimed labels like Freerange, liebe*detail, Buzzin’ Fly, Green and Poker Flat were snapping up his work. 2009 saw him release his immaculate debut album Reflections to great acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new producers of his generation. His second album, Liquorice, eschews the normal kick-clap/snare template by and large to explore more interesting and progressive territories, but always with that trademark magpie-like sense of texture, emotion and discovery. His productions are filled with a multitude of his own unique, charismatic field recordings, and he never uses the same sample more than once.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Leclercq started composing music at the age of 11, producing trance under the name of "DJ Deamon" and hands-up under the name of "Wayne Mont" until 2010 when he began producing house music under his current name, Madeon, which is an anagram of his previous nickname. He won a remix competition for "The Island" by Pendulum the same year.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">He went on to remix other electronic artists' tracks the following year. A clip of him performing his mash-up "Pop Culture", uploaded to YouTube on 7 July 2011, propelled him to international fame.It featured samples from thirty-nine songs mixed together on-the-fly using a Novation Launchpad. The clip quickly went viral and reached over six million views in just a few days.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: inherit;">During live performances, apart from the Launchpads, he also uses Novation's Zero SL MKII, FL Studio, and Ableton Live. His first live performance was in Paris in April, 2011 where he was a support act to Yelle, and his UK debut was at The Nest in Dalston, London where he performed alongside the likes of Jacques Lu Cont.</span><br />

His live recorded performance debut was for Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 gala event in Hull on 27 January 2012, where he played a 20 minute-long set.</span><br />

In 2011 Jacob enjoyed more success, with his smash hit "Spotfire" (Doorn/Spinnin' Records) he landed a #1 position on Beatport and countless compilation signings worldwide. Spotfire was considered the biggest track at Ultra Music Festival during the Miami Winter Music Conference 2011. Industry giants Dim Mak took note; they signed another banger called "Eponym" (from a collab with D-Wayne). With firm support of Mr Steve Aoki himself things can only get better for Jacob. Also Dadalive is one of his followers, Jacob was asked to remix the track "Fightclub is closed" that topped the charts for weeks. After this remix there was the Jacob van Hage Remix for Ferry Corsten's "Feel It" wich also contains the signature snares and dubstep crossover flow as Spotfire has.</span><br />

Another beauty in the list is "Convoi", also released on Doorn Records! This was the turning point for Jacob because he found his true love: House VS Trance ; Trouse! Uplifting, pounding, trancy but still at 128 BPM, which gained him lots of respect and support.</span><br />

DJ-ING</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">His ability to entertain a crowd, swirl them round and leave them wanting more makes him a promoter's dream. When Jacob steps into the DJ booth he becomes a monster and the true entertainer in him surfaces, the guy is all over the place! With his own sense and feel on the atmosphere, Jacob turns every dancefloor into mayhem. "I really love to get into the vibe of the dancefloor in front of me and play the tracks my heart tells me to play," as Jacob explains himself. This is why Dim Mak asked Jacob to join their stage at Tomorrowland with Steve Aoki, Afrojack & Dada Life among others and MTV asked Jacob to join their Club MTV Clubtour for 2012. </span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; line-height: 28px;">Mackenzie Johnson, better known as MAKJ, uncovered a passion for mixing and DJ’ing at only 15 years of age while living overseas in China as a professional racecar driver. The teenager soon grabbed hold of his first set of Technics 1200 Turntables and the rest was history. As a 17-year-old, Johnson made his way back to the United States with a unique outlook and greater ambition than ever before. The insight Johnson acquired abroad gave him incredible local momentum; Johnson found himself repeatedly invited to DJ countless local university and community college events in his home town of San Luis Obispo, CA. It was at this age that MAKJ also received priceless DJ’ing tutelage from one of the best in history, the late great DJ AM himself, who trained MAKJ in the art of scratching over the course of several one-on-one lessons. Honing and perfecting his skills over the past several years, MAKJ has DJ’ed at premier venues all over the U.S. including Avalon, The Hollywood Palladium, XS, Ruby Skye, Pacha, and Liv, and has also toured and played extensively all over North America and globally. He also performed at the 2013 Ultra Music Festival in Miami and has earned himself a slot on the Main Stage at the inaugural TomorrowWorld event in Georgia. Johnson’s creativity and diversity as an artist have now carried over into the field of original production, where his works have deservingly awarded him much critical acclaim and positive praise. His originals, edits, bootlegs, and remixes have received immense support from renowned artists such as Hardwell, Tiesto, Afrojack, Porter Robinson, Chuckie, Avicii, Laidback Luke, Nicky Romero, Michael Woods, Nervo, Bingo Players, Sander Van Doorn, W&W and many others. With the support of these greats in his pocket, MAKJ is now thriving as a producer; he has a slew of new tracks slotted for release over the course of 2013, including releases on Hardwell’s Revealed label, The Bingo Players’ Hysteria Records, Sander Van Doorn's Doorn Records, Michael Woods' Diffused, and Robbie Rivera’s Juicy Music. He has also released several official remixes on mega-dance label Ultra Records. In just a couple of months, Vicetone has amassed a following in the tens of thousands, had their tracks played out by t he likes of Hardwell & Nicky Romero, and produced an official remix alongside Tiesto and RAC of Youngblood Hawke's "We Come Running" (Universal Music).With new singles, vocals collaborations, remixes and shows coming up, Vicetone is the name to watch in 2013.</span></div>
